Summary/Objective 

Reporting to Wealth Advisor, the Wealth Management Intern is responsible for assisting the Wealth Advisor to build assets within the Wealth Advisory CWA division and to develop solutions for clients to assist in reaching their financial goals.  

 

Essential Functions 

  1. Assist the Wealth Advisor in research and investment analysis, strategies, and market conditions  

  1. Assist with preparation and input of relevant data for financial planning clients 

  1. Assist and coordinate processes as it pertains to investment marketing alternative investment solutions 

  1. Support the Wealth Advisor in efforts to increase assets under management and revenue for both traditional Cain Watters clients and Wealth Advisory clients 

 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  1. Input data into financial plan software, risk software, etc. to provide basis for client conversations provided by Wealth Advisor 

  1. Assist the estate planning team on data gathering, reviewing documents, and building estate flows 

  1. Track and maintain detailed information pertaining to alternative investments 

  1. Special projects to be determined by Wealth Advisor or Partner 

  1. Ongoing monitoring of the client's portfolios; propose any required modifications 

  1. Review investment statements and assist Wealth Advisor in analysis of investment holdings 

  1. Keep detailed records of services provided

Job requirements

Education and Experience 

  • Individual working towards a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Financial Planning, Accounting or related field 

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel 

  • Experience in Emoney highly preferred 

 

Travel 

No travel is expected for this position. 

 

Work Environment 

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position will allow for work-at-home during certain timeframes.  

 

Physical Demands 

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.   

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, intern position. The duration of the internship will be determined based on incumbent availability and business need. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed based on management’s approval.
