Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Financial Planning Data Input Supervisor, the Financial Planning Data Input Specialist 1 is responsible for entering financial data into a variety of financial planning systems while maintaining confidentiality of client information.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Maintains various financial planning systems by entering new and updated client account information which may include financial statements, investment holdings, debt schedule, personal lifestyles, and insurance policies.

  2. Maintains client confidence and protects the Firm by keeping information confidential.

  3. Establishes data entry priorities based on assigned workload and deadlines.

  4. Maintains data entry requirements by following Firm processes and procedures.

  5. Communicates with Planning teams in a timely manner to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.

  2. Processes client and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies.

  3. Verifies entered client and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.

  4. Combines data from various systems when account information is incomplete.

  5. Purges files as needed to eliminate duplication of data.

  6. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  7. Assists planning teams as needed to securely submit client information to third parties such as lenders and insurance providers.

  8. Ad hoc duties as required.

Job requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Typically has a minimum of 6 months experience in Data Input, preferably in the Financial Industry

  • Established ability to quickly learn new technologies and accurately input data

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to gain and maintain the trust of others on a consistent basis

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Extreme thoroughness and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. 

 

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility in hours and ability to work remotely may be allowed based on management’s approval.

Compensation
Minimum: $21.00/hr - Maximum: $22.00/hr
