Summary/Objective 

Supporting both the NDP and 7 Pillars teams, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in the analysis, and diligence phases of transactions involving dental practice and health care business sales to either a private buyer or DSO/PE group. This position serves as a quality control expert responsible for providing accurate financial analysis, valuations, projections and if needed, scenarios showing hypothetical post transition results. The Financial Analyst works closely with the dedicated client lead to conduct in-depth financial analyses and evaluations of client businesses, ensuring that the client and/or buyer understands the full financial picture of the transaction. The analyst will also collaborate with third-party financial firms during the diligence process to verify the accuracy of necessary financial documents and assist in preparing detailed reports that support the transaction process. 

Essential Functions 

  1. Utilize financial acumen and analytical skills to enhance the firm’s analysis techniques and processes while delivering exceptional service to clients.  

  1. Gather diligence documentation through effective communication with clients and their representatives.  

  1. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and operational data of dental practices or related business to perform comprehensive financial analyses and estimate value/pricing.  

  1. Address inquiries from potential partners/buyers regarding financial and operational data and assumptions related to practice valuations.  

 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  1. Conduct detailed analyses of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. 

  1. Develop innovative approaches to produce deliverables that effectively address client inquiries and provide actionable insights. 

  1. Collaborate with the Client Lead to formulate financial recommendations or opinions based on thorough analyses performed. 

  1. Assess the economic performance of clients’ practices, providing insights that guide strategic decisions. 

  1. Respond to client inquiries and questions in a professional and timely manner, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. 

  1. Provide relevant financial information to interested buyers to facilitate the due diligence process. 

  1. Develop and prepare insightful, targeted questions for clients based on comprehensive analysis of valuation data, ensuring alignment with client objectives, and addressing key areas of interest or concern.

Job requirements

Education and Experience 

  • 2 years valuation, analysis, or relevant experience preferred 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 

  • A CPA candidate or CPA is preferred 

  • Experience in an advisory setting (i.e. litigation, valuation, and/or consulting) is highly desired 

  • Experience in the medical or dental field would be a positive, but not required 

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills 

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel) 

  • Proven experience building trusted relationships with clients 

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication required 

  • Keen intuition and ability to professionally problem solve and present recommendations or practical suggestions to clients 

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately  

  • Self-starter, able to initiate projects as well as successful follow through on project 

  • Above average level of organizational and prioritizing skills 

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment 

 

Travel 

No travel is expected for this position. 

 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.   

 

Physical Demands 

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.   

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m but given client service, some extended hours are required at times. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement post training time period; 2-3 days in-office presence is required.  Additionally, an in-office presence is expected for training, team meetings, or as other business needs dictate.
