Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Director is responsible for complete oversight of the finance department, providing strategic financial input to firm leadership, and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of our Firm.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage a team of at least five Associates

  2. Provide the leadership group with monthly financial reporting and relevant company KPI’s

  3. Establish processes and procedures to enhance the department’s overall effectiveness

  4. Execute the financial strategy of the company

  5. Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained

  6. Ensure the company remains compliant with all tax filing requirements

  7. Ensure the company remains compliant with bank covenants and reporting requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Provide timely and accurate preparation and review of financial statements

  2. Ensure that all tax filings are timely and accurate

  3. Oversee the billing, payables and accounting functions

  4. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

  5. Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

  6. Communicate effectively the financial goals and variances to management team

  7. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

  8. Construct and monitor reliable control systems

  9. Maintain appropriate business and professional insurance coverages

  10. Monitor budgeting, cash balances, and cash forecasts

  11. Oversee the key reconciliations on incentive-based compensation programs

  12. Work closely with affiliate investment advisor on managed client assets

  13. Maintain banking relationships and ensure compliance with all covenants

  14. Provide guidance to Affiliate companies on finances, risk management and processes

Job requirements

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business

· CPA license in good standing required

· Registered Investment Advisor a plus but not necessary

· 10+ years of progressively responsible experience within accounting or finance required

· Experience with Microsoft Business Central accounting system preferred

· Experience establishing processes/procedures and managing teams is a must

· Experience in partnering with an executive team required

· High level of written and oral communication skills expected

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval. The ability to work remotely is allowed based on management’s approval.

Compensation

Minimum: $175,000 - Maximum: $190,000
